Live Traffic NSW confirmed the truck has now been immobilized as authorities remain involved with the vehicle.

Traffic on the way into the city is now coping with significant delays during the morning rush hour.

Cars back up from Macquarie Park on the Gore Hill Freeway to the Lane Cove Tunnel before joining the M2 into the city.

A spokesman for Live Traffic NSW said there would certainly be delays into the city during the morning commute.

“Normally there are delays on the M2 going into the city, but this is significant and will continue into the morning rush hour,” he said.

Two Way Cranes confirmed that the truck blocking the tunnel was one of them and is currently investigating the situation.
