Toyota customer car returned dented after oil change

A woman took her car to a Toyota dealership for a routine oil change and had an unfortunate surprise.

In the viral video, Gurpreet (@singhgurpreet) shares a picture of her car before taking it to the dealership. It appears to be in perfect condition.

She then explains that she received a call from the switchboard that they “accidentally crashed [her] Car in the parking lot.”

In the next picture, her car is dented on the left corner and has scratches on the bodywork and the headlight.

Gurpreet says she “literally cried for about 15 minutes” after seeing the damage to her car.

The only explanation the dealership employee offered, she says, was that the parking lot was “slippery,” so the employee who was moving her car was parking with another employee (who was believed to be driving another customer’s car) collided.

“I’d better be compensated,” she says in the video’s caption, alongside the “dayruined” hashtag.

@singhgurpreet564 I literally cried for 15 minutes 😃 They said the parking lot was “slippery” so the parking attendant crashed into another employee coming into the parking lot #dayruined #toyota #crash #wisconsin #fyp ♬ Original sound – gurpreetsingh

TikTok has nearly a million views and hundreds of comments.

A commenter, who said he previously worked as a car salesman, explained that the dealership will take out its own insurance as it needs to cover its employees. “They will probably make the repair easier,” the person added.

Another person who worked at a car dealership shared that they saw “some crazy things” happen to customers’ cars, including them being totaled.

Others shared similar experiences with Toyota.

“GIRLS! Tell me why I gave mine up to have body work done after someone hit me and when they test drove it before giving it back to me they dented it,” said one commenter.

“The same thing happened to me at a Toyota dealer! But they didn’t call and tell me they hoped I hadn’t noticed. I made them pay for the fix!” another added.

In response to a comment, Gurpreet said the dealer would fix the damage without going through her insurance and offered her $100.

“I wish I was compensated more,” she said.

The Daily Dot reached out to Gurpreet via TikTok comment, but didn’t immediately receive a response.
