Toddler Loves Helping Mom With Farm Works: ‘He’s A Real Mini Me’

Meet Whitaker, the 15-month-old toddler who loves following his mother around her farm and helping her with the animals.
Mikelann Mollman, 31, is amazed at how excited her baby is, even after breaking a few eggs along the way.
Mikelann from Billings, Montana, USA said, “From day one he comes with me to feed the cows every day and is a real mini me.
“His father, Adam, 44, usually works his hardware store during the day so Whitaker stays with me while I work on the farm.
“He’s a great observer and learns a lot of things and he tries to copy everything I do.
“He loves to come with me when I’m moving hay bales in the skid steer, when I’m picking up and moving hay bales, and has his own little seat in it.
“His favorite pastime is gathering the eggs from our hens.
“At first he just threw them in the bucket and they jumped, but he has now learned to place them carefully or pass them to me, he picks them up between 6pm and 12pm every morning.
“Although he’s a bit cheeky at times and will drop a few for our dog Charlie, who is four, so he can get a free breakfast of eggs.
“They’re both tough as thieves, Whitaker will always try to secretly give Charlie food from his plate if he thinks I’m not paying attention.”
Whitaker is also quite a minor supervisor, as he checks on his mother’s work on the farm and makes sure everything is okay when she lets him sleep while she does chores.
Mikelann said: “Sometimes I let him sleep in and do all the jobs before he wakes up.
“He’s usually pretty upset when I do that and will run around the farm double-checking everything.
“He’ll rush around the farm like a madman and run to the gates and bolts and try to unlock them, even though he’s still a little too small.
“He’s obsessed with automatic chicken feeders and loves picking up buckets of feed.
“He waddles over with the bucket, it’s just a bit too heavy for him.”
Little Whitaker also loves the animals and imitates them as he struts around the property.
His mother said, “He often moos to the cows, and his favorite animals are the chickens and pigs.
“It wouldn’t surprise me that he can now say the names of each animal, if at all, since he is already able to identify each one when I say the names.
“He loves to look out the window when we’re in the skid steer loader.
“He’s such an eager toddler, he wants to do everything from playing with the machine to helping out here and there.”
