In a TikTok posted December 19 from @dog_and_his_boomer — an account that posts a video of Nala, a service dog — the owner shows an interaction with a woman he considers “Karen.”
The video was shot with a GoPro-style camera. @dog_and_his_boomer and Nala walk into a store and a woman says, “Oh my god.” Then she talks to the TikToker.
“Hey, can I ask where you got the GoPro camera mount?”
The TikToker told her he got it at Amazon, and she thanked him.
In the video’s overlay text, @dog_and_his_boomer writes that the woman was “going to have Karen, until she noticed the camera on my service dog”.
Most of the comments on the video suggested that @dog_and_his_boomer was exaggerating by calling the woman Karen.
@Abbienicolelyons commented: “Sometimes my voice sounds muted. “She seemed to be saying oh my gosh, the dog is so cute, this is exactly how I would say it.”
The TikToker responded, telling @abbienicolelyons she was “wrong”. He added that the woman was reacting to his shirt, which said “f your sensitivity”.
“A serious approach,” wrote @murasakimizu. “She sees a cute puppy and says ‘oh my god’ and asks you an innocent question.”
“You are Karen,” @sheguessedit commented.
“Sometimes the people who label people as Karen are in fact the real Karen,” wrote @firemarshal8461.
Others are more uncertain.
“I’m really really confused”, @undermee3 commented. “What did she do wrong?”
The TikToker replied that the woman was “about” to be Karen and then changed direction when she saw GoPro.
“Hence, she delayed the second comment,” wrote @dog_and_his_boomer. He also said that the woman was saying “Oh my god” to his shirt.
A select number of commenters agreed with TikTokers’ assessment.
“He’s not wrong,” @laylajackson171 wrote. “It was her voice when she said ‘oh my god.’
