A TikToker went viral this week after claims two different dashers canceled her order after learning she was visually impaired.
In the now-viral video, user @officialblindbeauty describes the whole story from her perspective, explaining how one Dasher canceled the order after requesting certain information in text instead of images, and another canceled immediately upon learning that she is blind.
There were also problems when the food was actually delivered by a third dasher, as she explains in the video.

“For those of you who don’t know me, I’m blind. I lost my sight to pseudotumor cerebri, also known as intracranial hypertension, or IH for short, and I developed this condition because of my birth control,” she says at the beginning of the video.
According to MedlinePlus.gov, certain types of birth control are known to increase the risk of developing pseudotumor cerebri, although the cause of IH is unknown.
In the further course of the video she tells what happened.
The day after her birthday, the TikToker was exhausted and decided to order food from DoorDash.
“The first dasher keeps sending me pictures,” she recalls. “I go on to explain to her that I’m blind/visually impaired… I’m like, ‘Hey, I’m visually impaired. I can’t see these pictures. Can you please use your words?”
At this point, the creator claims that Dasher canceled the order.
Undeterred, @officialblindbeauty placed another order, this time letting the dasher know before they picked up the order that she is visually impaired and has specific instructions on where to place the food. That dasher also canceled the order, she says.
The TikToker finally decided to give it a third try, this time giving no indication of her visually impaired status.
This dasher picked up her food but didn’t follow her instructions, allegedly specifically refusing a request from her building’s receptionist.
In comments, users supported @officialblindbeauty while voicing their own complaints about DoorDash.
“Door Dash refuse to discipline their workers. Instead, they make more rules for the customer,” claimed one user. “I deleted the app.”
“You act like you signed up to have food delivered to my door,” added another.
“And people will hate us like we wouldn’t rather get it ourselves,” said a third.
For her part, the creator says her experience with DoorDash has been mostly positive.
“…They used to be amazing and their service is getting worse by the day,” she explained in comments. In another comment, she added, “I’ve never had DoorDash not refund all my money and give me extra credits when these things happen, so I haven’t deleted it yet.”
DoorDash itself eventually responded, writing in the comments: “We are incredibly sorry you had to experience this kind of treatment. Trust us when we say we totally understand your feelings.” The comment says it’s the first of two, although the second comment doesn’t appear to be under the video anymore.
