In a viral video on TikTok, one user said they were immediately put to work when they entered Subway to look for work.
“When you come looking for a job and they send you to work on the spot,” user @hoenawz writes over the text overlay.
The video shows three Subway employees hustling while TikToker records them. It received more than 2.1 million views and a wave of responses from other TikTok users.
“It was the first sign that this is a bad job, has happened to me before,” said one user.
Many other former Subway employees stated in the comments that they were also brought on board immediately.
“Also happened to me in the subway! On the third day I quit. That’s the total BS,” said one user.
“The subway really is like that. I had an interview and then a few hours later they asked me to work that night,” another said.
“Happened to me but then they get mad if I do it wrong,” wrote a third.
Other users highlighted the lack of training on their own experience working at Subway.
“They don’t train,” said one user.
“When I worked at Subway, I didn’t even know how to bake bread and my boss wanted me to run and close the store myself,” said another. speak.
However, other TikTokers said they experienced this while working at other establishments, not just Subway.
