Tinder dates always seem to carry terrible risk, and it’s hard to know what you’ll actually get when you hook up with your partner for a date.
A woman on TikTok has dated her first mechanical engineer, who claims he’s smarter than “95%” of the population. But this is a major plot change, and potentially, a happy ending.
Andrea, user @ suezcanal42069 on TikTok, posted a video of her slowly shaking and rubbing her forehead last month when her date could be heard in the background: “I’m smarter than 95% of the population.”
The video, which she onscreen captioned “first and last time I’ll hook up with a mechanical engineer from a crusher,” has received 5.8 million views as of Saturday.
The audio from the video has been made into one TikTok sound has since been used for almost 200 videos from other TikTokers.
Andrea’s viewers can’t buy her self-proclaimed intelligence on her date.
“I’ve heard a lot of men say this and none of them are right, lol,” one viewer commented.
Another user said, “smart people don’t need to say this.”
“These are also men who don’t know how to boil eggs,” another wrote.
Even Tinder is off, comments on TikTok, “*slowly exits.*”
Despite viewers’ anxiety, Andrea eventually met the engineer again, which she revealed in another TikTok video.
“Shall we keep him? I told him I was having a bad day and then he came in with wine and pasta…” she wrote in the video’s caption.
In the video, the engineer can be heard saying that “it’s not so bad for the environment as people say,” although it’s unknown what he’s referring to.
Viewers have a lot to say about Andrea’s question.
“He’s wearing bestie clothes,” one viewer pointed out.
“I mean the way he sits…” another viewer commented.
One user said: “No, if you source information from your dating decisions, you don’t deserve him. Let him find someone who can do it. ”
Then, in a surprising twist, Andrea reveals that the person was actually the last engineer she dated — because she was married to him.
“Never lie, he was literally my first and last mechanical engineer from the tiller and we’re both smarter than anyone, good night,” Andrea wrote in a caption. other on TikTok.
The video shows a photo of the couple in wedding attire, as well as several other photos that look like they’re on a date.
Viewers seem unprepared for the turn of events.
“What a plot twist,” said one viewer.
“You had us in the first half, ngl,” another commented.
“I follow you just bc this is an epic joke,” wrote one user, to which Andrea responded in a comment, “my life is a joke!”
Andrea’s most recent TikTok makes it look like she might be divorced from her engineer husband, based on the video’s caption: “So you’re telling me I just went through a divorce totally kiss because THIS is my first date??
Apparently, she’s dating another engineer – this time an electrical engineer. It seems another possible gag has given her a talent for stretching the truth and putting it into content.
