TikToker reveals hack to make Soju taste like water

A TikToker shared a secret to making soju taste like water.

In a viral video that has now been viewed more than 5 million times, Ashley (@ashyizzle) showed viewers a hack — which she called “dangerous” in a comment. She also asks viewers to “drink responsibly” in her videos.

First, she says, take a whole lemon and use a soju cap to drill a hole in one of the ends. Then ask for fresh soju, which Ashley claims has the least amount of sugar. And finally, squeeze the lime juice into the soju cup.

“The taste of alcohol has pretty much disappeared,” said one person who recounted the video. “Don’t underestimate the power of soju.”

Since Ashley’s video went viral, other TikTok users said they’ve tried to recreate it. For the most part, those who did the hack said it worked fine. Meanwhile, other commenters said the soju was easy to drink and didn’t need anything else.

“First time I drink this…” one person wrote. “I thought it was water and dropped the bottle.. I’m not fine.”

“Bruh, I drank 2 bottles and next thing you know, I’m sleeping with my head in the toilet,” another user said.

After some commenters wrote that the soju was strong enough on its own, Ashley explained that her video was a “fair warning to everyone.”

“When you say ‘don’t underestimate the power of soju’, I feel it in my soul,” said one commenter.

“Soju is too easy to drink,” wrote another TikToker. “This disappearing makes me unlucky.”
