TikToker Outsmarts Host offers Apt tours without permission

A TikToker found out her landlord was giving tours of her apartment without permission, so she protested.

Viral video by TikTok user Taylor (@trashy_taylor) shows her “preparing” her apartment by leaving embarrassing notes, letting potential tenants know the apartment is in trouble. pest control issues and that it was the current tenant who used the right spells. Captioned “anyone have other suggestions??”, the 28-second video has received more than 217,400 views and 24,900 likes since it was posted on Monday.

The video begins with a screenshot of her apartment manager texting her that they can “drop by” because “we’ve got a guy asking for a quick show of your location.” According to the screenshot, “their creepy apartment management always gives tours of our apartment without our permission.”

A series of text overlays narrate her retaliation when Taylor arranges her apartment for an impromptu viewing session.

First, she printed a letter to the management asking them to spray insecticide and leave an insecticide kit.

Second, she keeps tampons, a diva cup and a note of hemorrhoid cream in the bathroom.

Finally, she typed a “revenge spell” for potential tenants to find on the counter. The “revenge spell” includes ingredients like “Water obtained when the moon wanes” and “Fresh Mint to banish negative energy.”

The host is legally allowed to show tenants’ apartments to prospective residents if they give “reasonable notice”. What “reasonable notice means” varies from state to state, with most defining it as 24-48 hours in advance.

Many of the 184 comments offered suggestions for another way to prank her landlord to get them to stop touring her apartment.

“Next, I will make a Jeffery Dahmer-esque altar of his,” suggested @biancaaaaarod94.

“Adult toys. I have a feeling that will do,” said @ceoofbadbios.

“Makes all the door handles stick,” commented @catinism.

Viewers also praised TikToker. “Remember children, if you can’t take them to court, catch them petty! Good for you, I love it,” one person wrote.
