TikToker is calling out shapewear company for two wrong orders

In a viral video, a TikToker explains how Shapermint, a shapewear company, twice sent her the wrong order and didn’t respond to her complaints. User Tori (@torzmay) says she had been a loyal customer of the shapewear brand for a while before their customer service made her “never buy from them again.”

In the video, Tori claims she specifically ordered black tights from the company, but received brown ones instead. She asked them if she could exchange them, and they reportedly agreed. But when the second order arrived, she said the tights were brown again.

“So now I have a pair of brown leggings that I can’t and won’t wear with anything and they don’t look good on me,” she says.

“Rather than swapping out because I can’t trust him anymore, I decide to talk to someone,” Tori continues. She says she tried speaking to a “Live Fit Expert” Shapermint, but when she asked, none were available. She then texted a Shapermint customer service number explaining the situation, but said she had received no response.

Tori says she tried to blame it on a barcode error, but after checking the packaging, she noticed that the barcodes on both orders said “CHT,” which she thinks stands for “chocolate.”

“If it were black, it would say ‘BLK,’ meaning they scanned the wrong barcode for my order twice,” she continues. “Should I still trust this brand?”

Tori’s video has been viewed over 70,000 times since she shared it on June 10th. Several users have shared their own ordering bugs with the company in the comments. Others recommended either switching to another shapewear brand or letting Tori dye the leggings black herself.

Many viewers have also tagged the brand in the comments, and while Shapermint hasn’t responded to any of the comments, Tori’s TikTok still seems to be having an impact.

In a follow-up video, Tori explains that Shapermint finally got in touch after her video went viral. The brand reportedly reached out to the creator via Instagram after seeing her TikTok video. Tori included a screenshot of the message in the update video.

“I’m so sorry you had to experience this,” the brand wrote in the Instagram message. “What we can do is fully refund the first order and ship you the right color for FREE.”

Tori calls the move a great response but is still critical of customer service.

“I think they have a few things to fix in that regard,” she says. “It’s also quite concerning that if I hadn’t done TikTok, I wouldn’t have gotten that response.”

The Daily Dot reached out to Tori via Instagram message and Shapermints PR via email.
