TikToker confronts man accused of trying to steal catalyst converter

A TikToker caught a thief allegedly trying to steal a catalytic converter from her car in the middle of the night. She decided to confront him on video and is currently looking for more information about the man.

The user, Jani (@jdeprincess), posted a plea to TikTok along with the video.

“I FORGOT!” she writes. “Someone please send me any information you have about this man!!”

TikTok shows Jani pushing off a building to a street where another car is pulled up right next to her, theoretically providing some cover for the man underneath her car, who seems to be trying to steal her property.

Theft has increased nationally of catalytic converters, reduce harmful emissions in automobile engines and contain precious metals.

“What are you doing?” Jani was demanding, distracting him. The man immediately began gathering his tools and retreated to his own car, claiming that he had done nothing.

There didn’t seem to be anyone else around, and Jani noted in the video that the interaction took place near 4am. She stood straight in the man’s face and told him not to go anywhere.

The man ignored her and went back to his car, but not before Jani got a picture of his face, the car and his license plate — and the damage he is said to have done to the man. her car.

It was rumored that Jani immediately stepped forward and confronted the thief.

“Okay, I haven’t seen anyone say this yet and need to say, YOU ARE SO SORRY, things could have ended up being much worse,” wrote user @dyanna.e.

“My man literally had a saw and you pulled him up like a toddler,” added @mr.carstens.

User @kane_n_kash feels the same way. “You yelled at him like he was your dog chewing on the couch,” the person said.

In the comments, Jani confirmed that the incident happened on Delaware Avenue in Philadelphia, but it is unclear if she was able to identify the man or if there was a police report.

The Daily Dot has reached out to Jani for comment.
