Three people killed and 14 injured in gunfire outside a nightclub

Three people were killed and 14 others injured in a shooting outside a Tennessee nightclub.
Two of the victims died from gunshot wounds, while the third suffered fatal injuries after being hit by a car fleeing the scene, Chattanooga Police Chief Celeste Murphy told reporters.
Three other people were hit by vehicles leaving the area just before 3am on Sunday.
Chief Murphy said it was believed to have been an “isolated incident”, adding that there were likely “multiple shooters”.
She said the circumstances behind it were unclear and urged witnesses to come forward, reports ABC News.
Chief Murphy added: “Regardless of how small and insignificant you think it is, please reach out to us.”
The names of the victims and potential suspects have yet to be released.
The police chief told reporters: “At 2.42am this morning, CPD units responded to McCallie’s 2100 block at a nearby nightclub to reports of a shooting.
“Once on site, they encountered several victims and began providing assistance and securing the crime scene.
“At this time we can confirm 14 victims who were shot and three who were hit by vehicles attempting to flee the scene.
“Three deaths have been confirmed; two of these relate to gunshot wounds and one to injuries sustained following a vehicle impact.
“Several victims remain in critical condition.
“The victims are both male and female. Sixteen of them are adults and one is a juvenile.”
It comes a week after six teenagers were shot dead in downtown Chattanooga following a confrontation between two large groups.
