Thomas Tuchel was delighted with his team but furious with the officials as Chelsea drew 2-2 with Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.

The Blues twice took the lead through goals from Kalidou Koulibaly and Reece James, but Spurs equalized twice thanks to Pierre-Emile Hojberg and a last-minute header from Harry Kane.

Tuchel was outraged by his side’s two goals conceded and felt the first should have been ticked off for two reasons, while the second was due to an unusual scene.

The Blues boss felt Kai Havertz was obviously fouled by Rodrigo Bentancur just before the first goal, while he also thought Richarlison was offside and in Edouard Mendy’s eyes when Hojberg fired.

He also felt, and it was clear on the replay, that Cristian Romero was dragging Marc Cucurella to the ground by grabbing his hair just before Kane’s header.

The German had nothing but praise for his team but couldn’t believe one of Tottenham’s goals stood.

“We were absolutely brilliant,” Tuchel told Sky Sports. “Sorry I have to say but both goals can’t stand, absolutely can’t stand, there’s only one team that deserves the win, that’s us, we were absolutely brilliant.

“I feel sorry for my team that they are not getting what they deserve.

“First of all, it’s a clear foul Kai Havertz under construction, a clear foul. We had a tactical foul by Reece James that went straight to the yellow card. I don’t know how many tactical fouls Hojberg and Bentancur made today, nothing happened.

“Clear foul on Havertz, the situation goes on and on, then it’s a clear offside for Richarlison. He’s in the line of fire, he even goes to the ball, he doesn’t touch the ball, but Edou can’t see the ball. They check it, it’s a clear offside.

“And since when can we pull hair on a soccer field? We check it and nothing happens. We don’t have to look anymore, it’s ridiculous.

“That’s the only frustration. I’m the happiest manager in the world because we played a fantastic game, we were absolutely brilliant, dominated 90 minutes. Spicy, hungry, disciplined in all areas of the course and so full of quality. top, top, top performance and i feel sorry for my players.’

Spurs boss Antonio Conte said he did not see the Cucurella incident.
