The Blues and Spurs bosses clashed early in the game and received yellow cards for their reactions after Tottenham’s first goal at Stamford Bridge.
However, it was after the final whistle that the serious confrontation took place, with the managers shaking hands, then not letting go of the shake, aggressively puckering and exchanging heated words.
Coaches and players split managers, but referee Anthony Taylor showed both straight red cards.
The Football Association has since charged both, claiming their behavior was inappropriate.
You have until Thursday, August 18 to respond to the charges.
Tuchel is also facing a potential Football Association rapper after the latter opened an investigation into his comments after the game.
The Germany manager was furious that a foul on Kai Havertz was disallowed ahead of Tottenham’s first goal, while he also believes Richarlison was ruled offside when Pierre-Emile Hojberg scored.
Tuchel was also angry that no foul was given against Cristian Romero because he had pulled Marc Cucurella’s hair shortly before the second equalizer.
Asked if Taylor shouldn’t officiate Chelsea games, he said: “Maybe it would be better. Perhaps it would be better.”
The Germany manager also claimed his players were “concerned” playing in Taylor-managed games, adding when asked about the fans’ concerns: “Not just the fans. You know the players, they know what’s going on when they’re on the pitch. You know it.”
According to the Daily Mail, Tuchel’s comments have now sparked an FA investigation.
