Thick smoke rises from the former Schneihorst Village site

FRONTENAC, Mo. — A fire has broken out at a building complex near the intersection of Lindbergh Boulevard and Clayton Road in St. Louis County. The building is commonly known as the site of the former village of Schneithorst. A Starbucks is among the businesses currently operating there.

The fire may have started after a construction crane came into contact with electrical lines. Dense black smoke can be seen from the area.

Lindbergh Boulevard and Clayton Road are closed while crews work to put out the fire. This is an evolving story. More details will be posted here as they make their way into the FOX 2 newsroom.
