Thibaut Courtois aims to attack Liverpool and Chelsea fans after stunning performance | Soccer

Thibaut Courtois took aim at English football fans after delivering a man of the game advert on Saturday Champions League final against Liverpool.
The Belgium international joined the Spanish giants from Chelsea four years ago and initially took time off to settle down at the Bernabeu after edging out popular Keylor Navas.
Since the return of coach Carlo Ancelotti in the summer, the 30-year-old has steadily rebuilt his reputation and is once again among the best goalkeepers in the world.
Liverpool dominated big spells in Paris but found Courtois in unbeatable form, with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane particularly stunned by the goalkeeper’s mobility and reflexes.
After the game, Courtois gave his critics a blunt answer: “Yesterday in the press conference I said that Madrid wins when they play finals. I was on the good side of history.
“I saw many tweets coming my way that would humiliate me today, it was the other way around.
“Today I had to win a final for my career, for all the hard work to get my name respected, as I feel I don’t get enough respect, especially in England. I saw a lot of criticism even after a great season.
“I’m really proud of the team. We stuck to that and when I needed to be there, I was there for the team.
“We’ve beaten some of the best clubs in the world. City and Liverpool have been incredible this season. They fought to the end in the Premier League, Liverpool won two trophies and they were really strong.
“We played a great game today. We had a chance and we converted it.”
