“The White Lotus” popularized the Aperol Spritz cocktail

The White Lotus makes everything look cool. Dress like Peppa Pig? Cool. adultery? Cool. Aperol Spritz? Cool. The refreshing, easy-to-make cocktail — a mix of Aperol, lemonade and Prosecco, garnished with a slice of orange — has been a hit since the HBO series’ second season.
“The Campari Group, the spirits company behind Aperol, just announced that the bitter aperitif grew 50 percent in the U.S. in 2022 and is set to become its fastest-growing offering right now,” reports Tequila Raiders.
Aubrey Plaza, are you drinking your cocktail? Cool.
“If you look at yourself white lotus, one of the main Netflix TV series, you will see so many orange glasses – the perfect Aperol server during every single show. This is clearly having an effect,” said Robert Kunze-Concewitz, CEO of the Campari Group. It’s not enough to know that The White Lotus is on HBO, apparently not Netflix, but point taken.
Campari isn’t the only company seeing a boost from what has been touted as The White Lotus Effect. According to travel app Hopper, searches for Sicily flights and hotels increased by 50% during the show’s airing in late 2022.
If you want to feel as cool as Mia and Lucia (in Sicily), you’ve come to the right place.
