The WhatsApp trick could save you from HUGE embarrassment — and it’s that simple

WHATSAPP could very soon give you even more time to “unsend” a message.

Deleting texts for everyone is really handy — but the grace period is short.

In fact, you currently only have 1 hour, 8 minutes and 16 seconds to undo a message.

Not sending means the text will be deleted from both the recipient’s phone and your app.

It’s a great way to increase privacy — or delete an accidental or embarrassing text from history.

Now the detectives from WABetaInfo have investigated the WhatsApp beta and found evidence of a time extension for unsent SMS.

Three major changes to WhatsApp have been announced that will completely transform the app

According to the app investigators, the deadline could increase to two days and 12 hours.

This is reportedly active for some users testing the WhatsApp beta.

Unfortunately, WhatsApp hasn’t confirmed exactly when this feature will land.

As it is still in development, it could take weeks or even months to roll out.

Sending messages on WhatsApp has been possible for a number of years.

Initially, it was only possible to send text messages in the first eight minutes.

But time is creeping up – and could continue to grow in the future.

Other apps – including Meta’s own Instagram – don’t have a time limit on not sending messages.

If you want to try the latest WhatsApp features first, follow our guide below to join the beta.

How to get WhatsApp beta

To download WhatsApp Beta for your smartphone, you need to go to Google Play on your Android and search for WhatsApp.

Scroll down the page until you see “Become a Beta Tester”.

Tap the “I’m in” button, then tap “Join” to confirm.

Now all you have to do is wait for the update to the beta version of the app.

Participation in the WhatsApp Beta on iOS for iPhone is more difficult and has a limited capacity.
