An arrest was made in Orem on Tuesday evening after Mayor David Young and another person were spat on and assaulted.
Linnea Pugmire, 31, now faces multiple charges, including two third-degree felony counts of threatening elected officials and one count of assault.
“It was just really scary and something you don’t expect,” said Michelle Lee, who filmed the incident.
Arrest documents show that Pugmire admitted to police that they were upset with the mayor “because of personal concerns about the family.”
“She charges at me, she spits at me, she spits and hits the girl next to me,” Young recalls. “Of course when that happened I wasn’t really happy about it, so I pushed them to try and get her away from us.”
