The team selection for the first round has been announced

Still on the Tigers and Sheens has sought to quash some of the speculation surrounding John Bateman.
The England international only landed in Sydney on Friday and is under-challenged as he continues to meet his new team-mates. There were rumors that a pre-existing ankle injury could sideline Bateman for up to two months but the club have dismissed it.
If it were a grand final, from a purely physical point of view, Bateman could play on Sunday.

“He’s run 5k and 10k in England, it’s not a chronic thing [with the ankle]’ Sheens said.
“He trained well physically yesterday, but of course he didn’t run with the team.
“We’ve been investing in this kid for four years and I’m not too worried about it for the first few weeks.”
