The St. George man allegedly killed a man who had an “intimate relationship” with him and his wife

A St. George man who was “intimately involved” with a woman and her husband has died and the husband is in jail after a weekend shooting.

The 30-year-old suspect called police just before 7.30am on Saturday and said he had shot someone. When officers arrived at his home near 800 South and Dixie Drive, they found Ryan Allen, 37, dead inside.

According to a probable cause statement, the victim’s body was in the main bathroom and he had sustained “multiple traumatic injuries.” Several shell casings were found in or near the bathroom, according to police.

When questioned by police, the suspect said he heard his wife and Allen arguing in the bathroom and he “believed Ryan was suicidal and armed with a gun.” The suspect told police he got his own gun from a bedroom closet, made sure it was loaded, and went through the bedroom to the bathroom, where his wife and the victim argued. He said he “determined to kill Ryan.”

According to police, the suspect said he wasn’t sure how many shots he fired, but he “continued firing until Ryan stopped moving.”

The suspect told police he, his wife and the victim had been living together since November.

The suspect was sent to the Washington County Jail to investigate murder and weapons charges. His bail was set at $1 million.

The Salt Lake Tribune generally does not name suspects until they have been charged with a crime.
