The server is complaining about customers ordering the kids menu

A restaurant worker recently used TikTok to poke fun at customers who order from the kids’ menu — and then expect adult-sized portions.
In a video that has now gone viral, @lttlebean performed a skit portraying both a server and a difficult customer. As of Saturday morning, her video had over 2.5 million views.
“I repeated myself multiple times I swear they’re not listening,” @lttlebean captioned her TikTok.
@lttlebean I repeated myself several times, I swear they’re not listening. #bloom #bloompartner #karensgoingwild🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 #foryouu #fyp #yikes #karen #foryou #karensgoingwild #hatersgonnahate #foryoupageofficial #goawaykaren #foryoupage #foryoupage ♬ Original sound – lttlebean
In the video, @lttlebean pretended to be a customer who wanted to order kids’ meals “because… it’s cheaper that way.” She then switched to the waitress’ point of view, who – repeatedly – told the customer that she wouldn’t be getting adult-sized portions this way.
“I’ll just let you know that all of the kids meals are a smaller portion because they’re intended for kids,” said @lttlebean as the “server.”
The “worker” also told the “customer” in advance that she would double the cost of her entire meal to get large portions. Predictably, the characters went back and forth until the “customer” was upset when she saw how much her order cost.
“Every time we ordered something, you doubled it,” said @lttlebean, as the “customer” said.
“You told me that you only order from the children’s menu, which is perfectly fine. But the portion sizes for children are half the normal portion sizes,” the “server” replied. “If you wanted a full size, which is what you told me to do, and I was only allowed to take items from the children’s menu, then I had to double it.”
The Daily Dot reached out to @lttlebean via TikTok comment. At the time of publication, it was unclear if her TikTok was in response to a specific incident involving someone. However, adults ordering from the children’s menu in restaurants is certainly not a new phenomenon. In fact, earlier this year, another TikToker went viral for ordering kids’ meals to save money on groceries.
Still, some employees reported experiencing similarly frustrating interactions with customers.
“Why do they have to be so difficult,” read one of the top comments on the video from @lttlebean.
“Some people are just cheap and don’t listen,” wrote another viewer.
Meanwhile, some customers have defended ordering from the children’s menu as adults – but insisted it wasn’t as difficult as woman @lttlebean made it out to be.
“Too many stores won’t let me order kids meals,” said another commenter.
“I order from the kids menu and expect less food because I don’t like big portions,” wrote a fourth TikToker.
