The savvy mom reveals a ‘groundbreaking’ laundry hack that will make sorting kids’ clothes a breeze and blow people’s minds

It can be difficult to keep track of laundry when you have kids.

But one mother has come up with an ingenious way to keep track of her children’s clean clothes.

The Dinkum family matriarch took to TikTok to share her clever hack, explaining that she “learned it from a friend.”

“If you have multiple children, the first child gets one bar on the collar or back label, the second child gets two bars, the third child gets three bars, and so on,” she said.

“That way you know whose clothes belong to whom.”

In another video on TikTok, the mom went on to explain how useful the hack has been for her large family.

“The fact is, when you have a lot of kids that are the same age, ours are usually about two, two and a half years apart, and they’re the same sex, it’s very easy for their clothing to get mixed up,” she said.

“It can almost look like you’re folding it up in a laundry pile, especially if they have matching outfits.

“It takes a lot longer to think about which child wears what size clothes and when than it does to just look at the bars and count.

“What we’re doing is making it easier for us to organize the clothes to make sure the kids get their own clothes.”

She also said the hack is extremely useful if you have an older child who is smaller than their younger sibling.

“I have a kid who has always had a very small waist, and I had a hard time finding shorts and pants that would fit that kid,” she said.

“But her younger sister had a bigger waist.”

She was quickly praised by other parents for sharing the hack, with one writing: “THANKS!!!

“I have three boys and they’re at a stage where it’s hard to tell whose stuff belongs to whom.”

“That’s great!” added another.

“This is smarter than when my family used to make colored dots,” commented another.

To which the poster replied, “I found the dots faded too much over time, so I started making bars.”
