Reaching for Air will tell residents’ stories in an interactive air quality map

Do you live on the west side of the Salt Lake Valley and has poor air quality affected your life? The Salt Lake Tribune and KUER want to hear from you.

Please join us on Saturday, January 28th at the Mestizo Coffeehouse at 631 North Temple, Salt Lake City anytime between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m

Approximately 10 minutes of your time will help create a first-ever interactive air quality map of the Salt Lake Valley with personal audio stories narrated by local residents for our Reaching For Air project.

Salt Lake County recently received an F when rated by the American Lung Association for high ozone days, and air quality monitors often show that the western side has some of the worst hot spots.

There are many air quality maps – but none of them tell the story of the people who live in the areas most affected by air pollution. This is the first of many sessions The Tribune and KUER plan to host. We also plan to visit other cities in the near future.
