Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will make his superhero debut later this year on DC Black Adam air. As production on the project continues, the star has shared more of her love for the iconic character.
In a social media post, The Rock shared that while he’s played a slew of popular characters on the big screen over the years, he feels most privileged to bring viewers closer to DC Comics’ anti-heroes.
“Intense production week on BLACK ADAM. I’ve had the privilege of playing some great (funny) characters throughout my career, but none speaks more to my DNA than this anti-hero known as the Man in Black, Teth Adam. Rage against the dying of the light. “
Since The Rock first shared his interest in taking on the role of Black Adam, the film has become one of DC’s most anticipated films. Although there have been delays, the film is now set to arrive in October and with production still underway, the cogs are in motion to meet that date.
Last week, a producer on the film shared more details on why the delays were occurring, explaining that there is a congestion at visual effects production studios across the board that is causing many superhero films to be delayed.
Despite these delays, there is new footage from Black Adam was shown at CinemaCon late last month, which has fans excited for the upcoming power shift in the DCEU.
Black Adam should arrive on October 21st.
