THESE past four days have been a wonderful celebration of our wonderful Queen, with memories to cherish for a lifetime.

The Platinum Jubilee showcased the very best of Britain – in a way we may never see again.

Whoever came up with the idea of Paddington having tea with the Queen is a genius.

And what a grand finale to see Her Majesty on the balcony of Buckingham Palace with Prince Charles and Camilla, Prince William, Kate and their children.

It was the icing on the cake of an exceptional few days.

I’ve been to the Silver and Gold Jubilees which were fantastic events but of the three this one surpassed it.

We had so many fantastic moments over this long weekend, starting with four year old Prince Louis performing at the Trooping of the Color and almost stealing the show.

We’ve had every type of celebration, from the ceremony to the Thanksgiving service at St Paul’s, to that phenomenal concert outside Buckingham Palace, to the procession of people to that fantastic Jubilee competition yesterday. And we even had Paddington Bear.

Whoever came up with the idea of Paddington having tea with the Queen is a genius. She surprised us with a James Bond sketch for the opening ceremony of the London Olympics in 2012, and she did it again with this brilliant way of introducing the concert to the world.

For decades, royal pundits have wondered what she keeps in her purse, and now we know – it’s jam sandwiches!

What a great sense of humor Her Majesty has, and didn’t she look absolutely gorgeous? Saturday night’s concert was spectacular with the light show on the palace and the graphics in the sky.

And Diana Ross closing the show was pure magic.

On Sunday, during this unforgettable pageant, we had everything from “Dames in Zags” to those who have worked on the front lines during the pandemic.

We’ve seen tributes from world leaders like US President Joe Biden and France’s President Emmanuel Macron, who hold our monarch in such high esteem.

Former First Lady Michelle Obama spoke of the Queen’s warmth and extraordinary kindness, while her husband Barack said her life was a “gift to the world”.

We hoped Prince Harry and Meghan wouldn’t overshadow events, and they didn’t. In fact, we hardly saw them.

It was disappointing that the Queen didn’t make it to St Paul’s and the Epsom Derby wasn’t the same without her.

But we had her in our hearts and minds the whole time.

The anniversary showed how much she is loved and admired. So thank you ma’am for your 70 years of service and for a weekend – and a monarch – we will never forget.
