The Overwatch 2 screenshot appears to depict the role change from Doomfist to Tank

Many familiar over watch Heroes are transformed surveillance 2, with most belonging to their models and others receiving complete kit overhauls. While not all hero changes have been announced in the run-up to the beta, the role of a melee hero may have been completely changed.

In a screenshot posted to officials over watch On the Facebook page showcasing the new pre-battle UI, Doomfist appears to be labeled as a tank hero rather than a damage hero. This would be the first hero to switch roles over watch since Symmetra, which was originally a prop.

in the over watch, Doomfist has the unique trait of being the only melee-centric damage hero, complete with a kit focused on beating his enemies. But a crucial part of his loadout is his survivability in the form of a personal shield created by using his abilities against his opponents. His damage and mobility are already high and his shield makes him even more difficult to deal with, leading many fans to question his hybrid kit.

If Doomfist is indeed placed in the tank role, he’ll likely see major adjustments to his damage and mobility while focusing more on his potential to disrupt enemies. At the moment the only tank is in it over watch with Doomfist-like mobility, Wrecking Ball comes at the expense of an out-of-tank initiative – likely what a revamped Doomfist tank would become.

Adding Doomfist to the tank role would make a total of nine known tank heroes available in surveillance 2. But it’s currently unconfirmed that Doomfist will actually change his role. The tank role has since been revealed to be somewhat toned down in this sequel surveillance 2 focuses on five-on-five combat instead of the original’s six-on-six, and foregoes a tank slot.

The beta for surveillance 2 is available for registration on PC via officials over watch website and starts at the end of April. The Overwatch 2 screenshot appears to depict the role change from Doomfist to Tank
