summary
The old man revolves around Dan Chase (Jeff Bridges), who fled from the CIA decades ago and has been living off the grid ever since. When an assassin arrives and tries to take out Chase, the old agent learns he must now reconcile his past in order to secure his future.
After Dan Chase is flushed from hiding, FBI Assistant Director of Counterintelligence Harold Harper (John Lithgow) is called upon to hunt him down because of his complicated past with the renegade fugitive. Working alongside Harper are his protégé Angela Adams (Alia Shawkat) and CIA special agent Raymond Waters.
When Chase proves to be more difficult to apprehend than authorities expected, Julian Carson (Gbenga Akinnagbe), a highly qualified Special Operations Commander, is also sent to pursue him. On the run, Chase rents a room from Zoe McDonald (Amy Brenneman), who draws on reserves she never knew she had to survive the day she learns the truth about her new tenant.
The Old Man on FX is loosely based on Thomas Perry’s award-winning thriller.

Editor’s note
The old man is an excellent combination of storytelling, drama and action. Jeff Bridges is brilliant in this TV series. He convinces us that despite his character being a ruthless killer, he has compassion and struggles with his choices. Many of them have come back to pursue him.
