Ahead of Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2’s “End of Season” event, set to take place next Saturday, the official Twitter accounts for Epic Games’ ever-popular battle royale title have slipped into content creators’ DMs with teaser images .
The first of these was apparently sent to Ali-A, who was one of the newest content creators to join the “Icon” series of in-game skins. The image he received shows part of a hologram on a purple background.
Ali-A’s was followed shortly after by one sent to “Hiper” from the Fortnite_ES Twitter account.
From the background and hologram seen in both teasers, it appears that these are part of a larger teaser image. The purple background and angled lines also seem to go together, although for now, stitching the two images together doesn’t give us a clear idea of what exactly the larger image will show.
As of now, these are the only two images that we are aware of have been sent from Fortnite’s official Twitter accounts. It is likely that these images will be slowly sent to various content creators over the coming week leading up to the end of season event.
A thread on the FortniteBR subreddit showing the image sent to Ali-A has become a thread for speculation as to what the bigger picture might be. Some players believe it’s the “outside-of-the-loop bubble,” while others believe it just hints at a “space theme” for the upcoming season.
For those who don’t know, the “loop bubble” is part of a theory that the battle royale island is constantly in a time loop created by the Imaginary Order, which resets every 22 minutes when the Storm Circle fully closes . However, this is just a lore theory and has never been officially confirmed. Some fans believe that if the pictures do If the looping bubble is present, it could indicate the upcoming event that will bring cataclysmic events for the island and its residents, or just a very “lore-heavy” upcoming season.
