MIAMI – Police are still investigating a deadly shooting that took place in Miami on Saturday night.
Family members of the victim spoke to Local 10 News on Wednesday. They said the young man, whom they identify as 19-year-old Princeton Ulysse, has his whole life ahead of him.
He is described as a loving person who just graduated from high school a year ago, someone who loved to sing and play sports and loved everyone around him.
“This kid is everything to me and he’s so kind,” said Adrienne Ulysse, the victim’s grandmother.
Therefore, his family cannot understand why someone shoots and kills him.
The shooting happened around 8 p.m. Sunday in the Little Haiti neighborhood of Miami, near Northwest 2nd Avenue and 56th Street.
When authorities arrived, they found the 19-year-old man with gunshot wounds. He was taken to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital, but was pronounced dead there from his injuries.
“He was shot three times, in the arm, in the butt, and the last shot pierced his heart,” said Laura Marcelus, the victim’s cousin.
The family plans to hold a vigil in the area where Ulysse was shot on Friday.
Police are still investigating the shooting.
“I would like to know why they kill him, why this happened,” said Adrienne Ulysse. “Was it a drive-by shoot, or was he dating someone, or were they dating him.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
