No team has been hotter in the last 10 games than the Dallas Stars.
They have won nine of their last 10 with each victory coming in, no less. Dallas is led by the top team of Roope Hintz, Jason Robertson and Joe Pavelski, who have scored 13, 13 and 12 points respectively in the last 10 games.
And on Tuesday’s Daily Faceoff, Frank Seravalli and Mike McKenna talked about what’s turned around the group.
Seravalli: “The stars were already red. Seven straight wins, eight straight wins at home at the American Airlines Center. What are you seeing from the Stars so far?
McKenna: “You touched on one thing: when The Stars shut down Connor McDavid, a big part of it was Miro Heiskanen. He is a phenomenon for the Stars. He doesn’t get Makar’s praise, or Fox or the other Guardians in the alliance who are participating in the Norris Trophy chat because his total isn’t there.
The real change was a closed-door meeting after a terrible loss to the Nashville Predators on November 10. They sent Blake Comeau to the minor league, which really messed things up in the locker room. They have been 9-1 since then.
The big catalyst – aside from Heiskanen (and) his ability to score well – is actually Roope Hintz. Ten goals in 10 games for ace, my old friend from the American Hockey League. Joe Pavelski, Jason Robertson, Roope Hintz – they were hot carrying the Dallas Stars. They also had really solid side points. Jamie Benn is in the mix, Alexander Radulov’s uplifting numbers are already phenomenal. It really just started clicking in Dallas. ”
