The customer spends $1,000 on groceries at Sam’s Club

From ordering children’s meals to dollar store chains like Dollar General, adult consumers have proven they are willing to try a lot to save themselves from the higher grocery bills caused by inflation.
A Walmart shopper recently showed how expensive groceries have gotten by comparing her 2021 shopping list to today. For example, in 2021, she spent $5.38 on a bag of cheese. Today, that same bag of cheese cost her a whopping $17.68.
Another content creator, Summer (@summerreignhenning), just shared what it takes to support a family these days: $1,157.18. Summer, who recently hit 1 million followers, takes viewers shopping in one of her latest videos, which racked up 1.1 million views in 24 hours. Her first stop is Sam’s Club, where she loads up on snacks and spends $857.39. She then goes to Kroger, where she gets items that she “either couldn’t find at Sam’s or just didn’t need in large quantities,” bringing her total to $1,157.18. She says refrigerated items last a month and pantry foods last two months.

While the bill seems high, viewers praise Summer for buying groceries in bulk.
“Coming to think of it…it’s a lot cheaper to do it this way!!!” wrote one viewer.
‘That’s not bad for a month of groceries!!’ a second compliment.
“That’s a damn good price. Because I know that bulk costs the most,” reiterated a third.
Others shared how much money it takes to feed their own families.
“It’s really not bad. We are at around 1600 a month and have 7 children. 3 also wear diapers. We also spend more to eat clean. Good job everyone!” said one user.
“That’s about right. I spend $500 at Walmart every two weeks,” shared a second.
“I spent £1200 on groceries for my family of 6 last week and that only lasts us 2 weeks maybe 3 a month if I’m lucky,” commented a third.
Time reports that food prices, while continuing to rise, should stabilize soon. But it may take a while for them to go back down. This means that TikTokers sharing money saving hacks may continue to grow in popularity, and we’re sure to see more food price and meal saving content.
