**Spoilers for The Boys to come**

Boys star Laurie Holden has revealed that her character, the Crimson Countess, had shoes fit for some of the biggest kings and queens of pop, including Lady Gaga and Elton John.

Season 3 of The Boys has been pretty wild to say the least so far, with Crimson Countess one of the newcomers being shopped for the latest episodes.

She was introduced to fans as a member of Payback and a former lover of Soldier Boy.

However, upon learning that Soldier Boy was still alive, it wasn’t long before the pair reunited and things quickly went wrong after she betrayed him.

In epic scenes, Soldier Boy exacted his revenge when he unleashed his energy discharge, which destroyed the Crimson Countess’ home and transformed her body into a smoldering skeleton.

Pretty casual trail if you ask us.

Of course it’s The Boys, which means there’s never entirely a possibility that we won’t see them again.

And Metro.co.uk recently caught up with Laurie, who plays the superhero, who revealed all about the process behind getting into the role.

She told us about her wild prep schedule: “I had to fly out to Los Angeles for 10 weeks because they put together my superhero outfit from scratch.

“I would go there once or twice a week to model it and they built it. The creative team was exceptional. The guy who made my boots makes Elton John and Lady Gaga and Chers.’

Sharing what it was like to see the incredible shoes, she added, “I mean, it was epic to just walk in and see the shoes for all these icons to pick up.

“When I went to my fitting and I was like, ‘Oh, these are Elton’s boots, these are Lady Gaga’s boots.'” I was like, ‘Oh, and these are my boots!’ It was crazy, it was amazing.’

Meanwhile, she spoke about her journey of having to get in shape quickly in just 10 weeks during the Covid pandemic, which was achieved with the help of trainer Tony Martin.

She explained: “It’s a mental thing because at first you’re like, ‘Wow, I have to be in front of millions of people around the world in 10 weeks in a skintight superhero costume.

“I have a personal trainer that I worked with in Ireland, Tony Martin. We did virtual strength training three times a week.”

Laurie told us she was on a keto diet and used an app that tracked her various nutritional needs, energy levels, and monitored aspects of her body.

As The Boys continues to rise in popularity, Laurie admitted she didn’t feel any “pressure” to get on a show already so loved by her fan base and acclaimed showrunner Eric Kripke.

She continued: “The reason [I didn’t feel pressure] is because Eric Kripke, as showrunner, was arguably the loveliest employee in television history. I can no longer sing his praises.

“Everything comes from above, he’s the captain of the ship and every single department and people I’ve worked with have been so wonderful, so supportive. I didn’t feel that pressure because I made a lot of friends and creatively it felt like anything was possible.

“I don’t take anything for granted because I’ve worked on other shows where it’s been challenging in that department and I felt like there wasn’t anything I couldn’t do because I’ve been supported with such open arms .”

The Boys is now available to stream in full on Amazon Prime.
