The best scene of The Last Of Us finally happened in the S1 finale

All season long, HBO The last of us did an incredible job of recreating the most memorable scenes from the video game. Sarah’s death. Sam and Henry. Ellie and Riley’s date at the mall from the left behind DLC. The season finale was no different. “Look for the Light” had perhaps the most iconic moment from Naughty Dog’s masterpiece. No, it’s not Joel lying to Ellie, although that was handled well too; Our roundup has you covered there. It’s the giraffe scene.
It’s a rare moment of joy for Ellie, who, if you recall, recently rampaged at a pedophile religious spider — who was also a cannibal trying to kill her and Joel (“It’s OK, Baby Girl”). Nobody had to play with a cute animal more than her.
In the video game, the pack of giraffes (herd? herd? murder?) was originally supposed to be deer, but “deer are too mundane. Deer are quite small and banal. And giraffes are pretty incredible.” The last of us Creator Neil Druckmann narrates kotaku in 2013. “You go to the zoo and you see a giraffe up close… I was in Tampa, Florida and there was a place where you could see giraffes and it’s pretty amazing, this majestic animal up close.” to see.”
Also incredible: the reaction to the giraffe scene.

Yeah – that @TheLastofUsHBO The giraffe scene made me stagger. Memories of the first time I got there in the game 10 years ago came back so quickly. #the last of us

That they do the giraffe scene is so important to me that I’m so happy they kept it and showed that Ellie was still such a happy innocent girl who just had to go through horrible things pic.twitter.com/EJB1OoCm3F
