The Airbnb host found her apartment vandalized after a guest’s 6-month stay

An Airbnb host shows massive damage left by a guest who stayed in their apartment for six months in a viral TikTok video.

Creator, Jazmin Jones (@jazminrjones), wrote in the caption, “@AirBnb you better help us clean up after Norman Bates 👀 #airbnb.”

The TikTok video shared on May 26 shows exactly how devastated her apartment was after the guest’s stay. The text overlay reads, “POV: You come home to the realization that your AirBnb guest was a literal demon…”, referencing the blood on the walls that the guest left for her to clean.

Throughout the video, Jones pans the camera around her apartment to reveal trash strewn across the floor and piled in corners. Items in the bedroom appear to have been knocked over and there is a large brown stain on the crumpled sheets. Lots of tiny hairs were left on the bathroom counter while the soap dish in the shower appears to have broken off completely. In the kitchen, dishes are piling up in the sink, which she says has started to mold.

The creator also claims that her apartment is now infested with mice and her front door is broken and won’t open. Jones claims in the text overlay that the guest was a 36-year-old professor, adding in the comments that they stayed for six months.

At the end of the video, the TikToker says that she and her friend had to go through the fire escape. Jones adds that she tries to book hazard cleaners and pest control in addition to finding emergency shelters.

The video of her Airbnb horror story has been viewed over 220,000 times on TikTok.

Many commentators were shocked by the vandalized apartment. “What was he doing in there???” asked a viewer.

Another user said: “Nope, what? He has to pay damages.”

“This is a suspicious amount and pattern of blood,” suggests one commenter.

“I can’t believe how disrespectful someone can treat another person’s house and belongings…” wrote another viewer.

Others tagged AirBnb to get the company’s attention. “!! Sorry this happened to you… I hope @airbnb helps you with this but also let us all know if there is anything we can do!!”

Jones thanked the commenters for catching Airbnb’s attention. However, she says she is unable to speak to “real people” at the company until she can quantify the damage.

“We knew better but made a deal with the apparent devil,” she said in a comment. “We’re trying to sue and get bail, but that requires listing the damage (which is covered in bodily fluids) and filing a police report.”

In a follow-up video, Jones shows a cleaning crew helping disinfect the apartment and throwing out unsustainable furniture. She claims the guest left “hospital records” suggesting the blood on the wall was his.

“We have contacted authorities and will be addressing this as a crime scene/lawsuit,” she wrote via text overlay on the video.
