The 1975s Sweetly Sang “Oh Caroline” on “SNL”

In their second performance of the night, The 1975 showed a softer side with a performance of “Oh Caroline.” Be funny in a foreign language. The performance took place in the same colorful, living room-like setting as her intimate “I’m In Love With You” performance from earlier that night.
On stage, the band’s lead singer Matty Healy showed off his guitar skills as he sang of a woman’s unrequited love.
“Oh, Caroline / I wanna get it right this time / ‘Cause you’re always on my mind / Oh, Caroline,” Healy sings in the song’s chorus.
Much of the songs on Be funny in a foreign language touch the nuances of love. Throughout the album, listeners will hear Healy sing about joyful love and the kind of love that breaks your heart. In conversation with Washington PostHealy admitted that he had a hard time expressing those feelings of love.
“I’ve gotten to a point now where it’s easier for me to say I’m pissed off or to do something really unfavorable [to say]’Tell me you love me, that’s all I need to hear,'” Healy said, referring to another song on the album called “All I Need To Hear”.
