A nationwide search is underway for Kaitlin Armstrong, a Texas woman accused of killing a pro cyclist who once dated her boyfriend.

The US Marshals Service is conducting the search for 35-year-old Armstrong, wanted for first-degree murder in connection with the fatal shooting of 25-year-old Anna Moriah Wilson.

Wilson, a competitive gravel and mountain bike racer, had traveled to Austin, Texas for a race in early May. She was pronounced dead on May 11 when police responded to a call from a woman who found her friend bleeding and unconscious.

The 25-year-old motorcyclist suffered multiple gunshot wounds and died, according to the Austin Police Department.

Officials are now looking for Armstrong, who is a suspect in Wilson’s death. According to an arrest affidavit obtained by CNN, both Wilson and Armstrong were romantically involved with the same man, Colin Strickland, a professional cyclist.

Armstrong had reportedly contacted Wilson on multiple occasions in the past and told her to stay away from Strickland. Surveillance from the day of the murder shows a vehicle similar to Armstrong’s near the residence where Wilson’s body was discovered.

Armstrong had initially been in police custody just days before the crime on an unrelated warrant, but police told her she could leave if that warrant was deemed invalid. She has not been seen since then.

Wilson, known as “Mo”, had gone swimming and had dinner with Strickland on the day of her death. Strickland had dropped her off in front of the house where she was later found dead.

According to the affidavit, Strickland told police he had been in a relationship with Armstrong for three years but dated Wilson when they took a break in their relationship.

Surveillance footage shows the car suspected to be Armstrong arrived at the home a minute later. When asked by authorities, Armstrong did not provide a statement.

Wilson’s family said in a statement that “she was not romantically involved with anyone at the time of her death.”

Strickland is not considered a suspect as security footage and other evidence shows he was elsewhere at the time of Wilson’s death. The US Marshals Service is asking anyone with information about Armstrong’s whereabouts to contact him.
