Teenager killed after apparently accidental shooting at Pembroke Pines home

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. – A terrible tragedy struck at a house in Pembroke Pines on Saturday.

According to police, a male youth was shot dead in what officials say was apparently an accidental shooting.

A woman inside was handling a gun when police said the firearm was fired, fatally wounding the victim.

It happened late Saturday afternoon in the community of Coconut Reef.

Police said the woman and the victim are family members.

In a press release, authorities said, “The firearm was accidentally fired as a result of negligence and mishandling.”

Authorities said all possible charges are being filed by prosecutors.

The investigations are ongoing.
