Teenager charged after road rage led to shooting in Hazelwood

HAZELWOOD, Mo. — Police say a case of road rage led to a teenager shooting at another person’s vehicle in Hazelwood last week.

Prosecutors have charged Antwon Porter, 19, with five felonies in the investigation, including two counts of first-degree assault, two counts of armed criminal activity and unlawful use of a weapon. Porter is being held in the St. Louis County Jail on $250,000 bail.

According to the Hazelwood Police Department, police responded to the Howdershell Road and Dunn Road area on May 19 after a shot was fired. When officers arrived at the scene, they learned that a traffic incident had occurred in which the suspect fired multiple shots at the victim’s vehicle. No injuries were reported in the case.

An arrest warrant was issued for Porter on Monday. He was taken into custody Monday and police recovered the firearm suspected in the incident.

According to Missouri court records, Porter is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday for an indictment hearing.
