Teenage cashier rewarded $100 by Little Boy for his kindness

18-year-old Travis Sattler had been working behind the counter at Freddy’s Frozen Custard and Steakburgers for a little over a year when he had a touching encounter with a young boy.

After enjoying his meal with his mom, the boy went to the counter and ordered a mini mint Oreo custard.

“As soon as I told him his total, he fiddled with his change, all his money, sort of counted it, and then he just gave me everything. And it’s not enough,” said Travis Sattler CCP 2.

So Travis pulled out his own credit card and said, “It’s on me.” Travis also said the little boy was shocked by his gesture.

The boy returned to his mother and told her what had happened.

Before they left the store, the boy approached Travis again and handed him a note that read, “Thank you for being so kind and paying for my pudding. We need more people like you.”

Wrapped in the note was a $100 bill that Travis plans to use toward his nursing school education. “I like to think that I was a good influence on their day, and I kind of brightened it up just like they did mine,” Travis said United States today.

Travis’ kindness reached higher management, and the company gave Travis an additional $100 and some treats as a token of his good deed.

“There’s still a lot of good out there, no matter what we hear, especially with our young people, we have a number of them here, Travis is one of them,” said Padden Nelson, Freddy’s director of operations CCP 2.

One message Travis wants to share with the world is encouraging people to help each other. “Take care of each other and help where you can.”
