Teen in serious condition after being dragged by car

A teenager is in a serious condition in hospital after he was allegedly dragged by a car for more than a kilometer through three streets in Blacktown on Friday evening.
According to police, the 13-year-old boy was arguing with a 19-year-old Riverstone man in a car on Forge Street around 7 p.m. when the older man drove away, dragging the boy with him.
The driver allegedly turned left onto Sunnyholt Road and then left again onto Vardys Road before the boy fell out of the vehicle in front of a petrol station.
The boy was taken to Blacktown Hospital and then transferred to Westmead Children’s Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
Shortly afterwards, police stopped a car on Sentry Drive in Stanhope Gardens and arrested the 19-year-old driver.
The Riverstone man was charged with dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm, negligent driving causing grievous bodily harm and supplying a prohibited drug.
He was refused bail and will appear in Parramatta Magistrates Court on Saturday.
Police are asking anyone who may have seen a red Mazda 3 near Sunnyholt and Vardys streets on Friday evening, or who may have seen the event on dashcam, to call Blacktown Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
