Target Worker says the holiday season is like the ‘Hunger Games’

With the holidays just around the corner, most people try to shop for last minute gifts and find the best deals. Although it’s a joyful time of year, it can bring out the worst. In a viral TikTok, a Target employee compares working at the company during the holiday season The hunger Games.

The video shows user Joshy Thomason (@jjthomason7) sitting in the back room of a booth at Target. He scratches his head while looking at the camera in disbelief. The sound used in the background comes from The hunger Games, Say “Welcome” a few times, followed by “Happy Hunger Games.”

In the text overlay, Thomason writes, “literally anyone who works in retail.”

Thomason vented his feelings in the caption, writing, “Holiday season is killing me.”

The video garnered over 179,000 views as of Friday, as alleged current and former Target employees commented on each other wishing each other luck during the holiday season.

“May the odds as the target’s colleague ever be in your favor,” wrote one viewer, quoting the popular line in the hunger games Movie.

“I’m so sorry beast I was there, may the odds be in your favor,” echoed another.

“After 3 years as a team leader, I decided to leave immediately. Good luck everyone else, I’m turning now,” said a third.

Others expressed their feelings about the holidays at Target.

“The target will be destroyed during the holidays, the orders never end,” said one.

“Holiday destination is true horror, I had my PTSD kick just seeing the red in the background,” commented a second.

“I’ve been through 3 vacation seasons with Target and almost committed each time,” said a third.

Some people even shared their holiday horror stories on different companies.

“I worked at Barnes and Nobel on Black Friday and Christmas Eve for a year and NEVER again,” one person shared.

“I work in a mall, this is my first Christmas season working in retail and they put my bum on 3-9 and I work alone,” shared a second.

“Me at Starbucks…holiday drinks, red cup day, black friday,” wrote a third.
