Target worker says job changed her schedule without notice

A Target employee shares on TikTok that her job changed her schedule without notifying her, then called her to ask why she didn’t show up.

In the video posted by TikToker Val (@saturaided) on Dec. 16, she says her job asked her, “Why didn’t you call today, didn’t you show up?” She says she explained that she was originally for 11 a.m. was scheduled.

“They said, ‘So you were scheduled at 11 a.m., but they changed your schedule to 7 a.m.’ When should I have checked that? Between midnight and this morning?” Val says in the clip.

In the clip, she claims she told her job she would be training someone at 11am, so she would come as scheduled.

The video racked up over 861,000 views as of Monday, with commenters saying her job should have gotten her more exposure before she changed her schedule. Others shared their own experiences with last-minute timetable changes.

“They should give you at least 24 hours notice of a plan change (as far as I know),” wrote one user.

“It literally happened to me. I was scheduled at 10am and I checked before I went to sleep and I woke up and it said I was scheduled at 7am,” said another.

“Once they changed my schedule 30 minutes after I was already there… and got rewarded for not being where I was supposed to be,” added a third.

In a comment, Val confirmed that she works at Target as commenters made guesses based on her own experience working for the retail giant.

“That’s a goal, isn’t it,” surmised one commenter.

“They literally did this to me and I was IN the app when they put me on hold and watched them change it to tomorrow so they could be right,” wrote another.

“Omg I’m working on target too, one morning I was scheduled for 8am and then when I got to work suddenly it wasn’t scheduled anymore,” shared one worker.

The Daily Dot contacted Val via Instagram direct message and Target via email.
