Taddeo backs Crist a week after stepping down as governor

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – A week after exiting the Democratic primary for Florida governor, state Senator Annette Taddeo has endorsed US Rep. Charlie Crist for the task of challenging Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis in the fall.

Taddeo urged other Florida Democrats to rally around Crist. Crist is a Democratic congressman from St. Petersburg who, while a Republican, served one term as governor.

Taddeo is now running as the Democratic candidate in a congressional race in South Florida.

Taddeo was Crist’s running mate in his failed run for governor in 2014. Crist and Florida Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried are the strongest remaining candidates in the Democratic primary.
