“Miss Camarena, the state has filed a motion for pretrial detention in your case,” Rogers said. “That means we won’t be dealing with the conditions of release today. Instead, you will remain in custody and the case will be referred to the district court.”
The next hearing will take place next week to determine if there are conditions for her release. Camarena faces arson charges after police said she set fires several times at the Islamic Center in New Mexico in late November, causing thousands of dollars in damage.
Security cameras recorded the incident.
According to the arrest affidavit, a family member saw pictures of her lighting the fire and identified her. Now, she faces arson charges.
