Survivor Viral TikTok Posts About School Shooting

A girl said that she survived Sandy Hook The school shooting went viral with a TikTok about the tragedy.

The December 2012 school shooting was one of the worst in US history. A total of 26 people were killed, including six staff members and 20 children aged six to seven.

TikToker @ kaliahelise.spam (“Kaliah”) says she is one of the survivors. Earlier this month, Kaliah posted a TikTok with the caption, “I wish I could say it got better but honestly it doesn’t.”

“No. I don’t think so. It’s like that, you know?” replied the angel of death. “Everything has to come to an end. The drip stops eventually.”

“See you on the other side,” BoJack said.

“Oh, BoJack, no,” said the angel of death softly, “This is it.”

The caption above Kaliah reads, “I’m a freshman now in high school and things haven’t gotten better yet.” She stared at the camera, tears streaming down her face.

Kaliah’s TikTok has been viewed 2.5 million times as of the time of this writing.

The majority of opinions agree and indignant. Many people shared how old they were when other school shootings occurred, such as the 1999 Columbine school shooting. Columbine was not the first mass school shooting, but it was widely recognized. considered to usher in an era in which these cases were common.

“I was in 4th grade when Columbine happened,” one person wrote. “They said it would never happen again. I am 32.”

Comments expressing displeasure at the lack of meaning gun control has since gained similar popularity.

“When the Sandy Hook kids were in high school and still didn’t have gun control,” one person said. Kaliah’s profile says she’s 14 years old.

TikToks tagged #school shooting extremely popular on the platform. Cardholders have more than 200 million views all the time. Some of TikToks are from actual school shootings.

While the content can be frustrating and difficult to watch, many people appreciate its value. TikToker @thebeardedskeptic posted a stitch of Kaliah’s TikTok. In it, he discussed how school shootings helped change his stance in favor of gun control.

“…[W]I need to see more videos of these school shooting survivors,” one commenter on Kaliah’s TikTok.

“People need to understand the long-term effects it has on children.”
