Surveillance video shows chaos after multiple stabbings on Rail Runner

Police arrested suspect Luis Sanchez shortly after he escaped. The knife was left on the platform.

“We were about two or three cars that way, we thought we heard someone say, ‘He’s got a knife!’ and my mom and I looked to see if we heard what they were saying,” said a passenger describing the horrifying moments to KOB 4.

Sanchez is accused of stabbing a male passenger in the lower back and stomach after an argument on the train. When a security guard tried to break it up, Sanchez stabbed her in the neck. According to court documents, he stabbed an elderly woman in the shoulder.

Two days later, while Sanchez was in court, he asked a judge if he would be released. He wasn’t – Sanchez is now being held without bond while awaiting trial.

A Rail Runner spokesman told KOB 4 that they don’t have cameras on their cars, so there’s no video showing the actual stabbings.
