Student, 12, killed in traffic accident

A 12-year-old boy was killed walking down the street and police are appealing for witnesses.
Sussex Police said the student died after being hit by a car in Crawley Avenue, Crawley, on Friday afternoon.
He was taken to the hospital shortly after 2:45 p.m. after the accident. He died later in hospital.
A police spokesman said: “Emergency services were called to Crawley Avenue at around 2.45pm to receive reports of a collision between a car and a pedestrian.
“A 12-year-old boy was taken to hospital by ambulance, where he sadly died. His next of kin have been informed.
“An investigation is ongoing to determine the full circumstances of the situation and police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or the events leading up to it, or anyone who has relevant dashcam footage.
