Storm brings strong winds to Four Corners, knocks down Farmington’s Christmas tree

Several people KOB 4 spoke to said winds started picking up around 3 a.m. Wednesday in Farmington.

The city’s large Christmas tree was toppled by the wind – some of its decorations were even blown to the other side of the street. It’s only been active for a little over two weeks. Teams are working to get the tree back.

Other areas across San Juan County were also hit by high winds Wednesday morning.

Chris Cook, of Bloomfield, said: ‘We had a lot of wind out there but in my house there was no damage.

Due to the effects of the storm, there were several power outages throughout the county.

Most of the snow had melted by Wednesday afternoon.
