FedEx – Shipping company FedEx saw its shares rise 6% after it reported quarterly earnings and revenue that beat analysts’ expectations. FedEx also announced a $5 billion stock buyback program and restored its original fiscal 2022 forecast, which was downgraded in September.
Rivian Automotive – Electric vehicle maker Rivian saw its stock drop about 10% after reporting its first-quarter results as a public company. Rivian said pre-orders for its electric pickup trucks and SUVs grew 28% and announced plans to build a new vehicle assembly plant in Georgia.
Synthetic engine – GM lost about 4% in prolonged trading following the news that Dan Ammann, CEO of the San Francisco-based self-driving car company Cruise, left the company. Cruise founder Kyle Vogt will serve as interim CEO.
US Steel – Shares of US Steel trade about 4% lower after the company issued adjusted EBITDA guidance for the fourth quarter of 2021. EBITDA is expected to be around $1.65 billion, down from 2. $13 billion is expected, according to the Street Account.
Confirm – Shares of the installment loan company fell more than 1% after hours, continuing to slide after closing down 10%. Previously, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau announced on Thursday that it was conducting an investigation into buy-now-pay later credit. It asked Affirm and other companies offering a similar product to provide information to help them demystify industry practices and risks.
Jabil – Shares of the service manufacturing company rose 1% after reporting quarterly earnings of $1.92 per share on revenue of $8.58 billion. That was higher than analyst estimates of $1.80 per share in earnings on revenue of $8.29 billion, according to Refinitiv.
